Privacy Policy

PlotGenerator runs free story generators at plotgenerator.pages.dev. It is run by one person, not a company. This page explains what happens to your information when you use the site.
What we don't collect
- No accounts. You never sign up, and we never ask for your name or email address.
- No AI and no text upload. The generators only use the menus and buttons you click. Every result is picked from fixed word lists in your own browser and is not sent to us or to any AI service.
- Nothing saved about your results. We don't store the plots, prompts or titles you generate. When you leave the page they are gone.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which tools get used. It records:
- pages viewed, and general device, browser and approximate location data that Google derives from your connection;
- simple events such as "a generator was used", "a result was copied" or "the AI Outline button was clicked", with the page and the option picked (for example a genre).
It never receives your name, your email, or the text of any result.
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell repeat visits apart. Google processes this data under its own policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy . We keep analytics data for 2 months.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these cookies are only set after you click "Accept" on the cookie notice. Before you choose, Google Analytics may still receive basic cookieless pings, such as that a page was viewed; no cookies are set or read. Anywhere else, they are set when the page loads, and you can turn them off by clicking "Reject" on the notice. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Your choice itself is saved in your browser's local storage so the notice doesn't come back on every page.
Legal basis (EEA/UK): your consent for analytics cookies; our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for hosting logs.
Hosting logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect the service, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type under its own policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
The "AI Outline (coming soon)" button
Some pages show an "AI Outline (coming soon)" button with the price we plan to charge. That feature does not exist yet. Pressing the button only opens a short note saying so. We count the click (see Analytics above) to decide whether the feature is worth building. No payment details or email address are asked for, and nothing is charged.
Copy button
When you press Copy, your browser writes the result to your device's clipboard. The site cannot read your clipboard.
If you email us, we use your address only to reply. You can ask us to delete the conversation at any time.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to the address below. We don't hold anything that identifies you unless you email us. For analytics data, clicking "Reject" stops new collection, and Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example if we add ads or a paid feature, we will update this page and the effective date before the change goes live.
